Client Authentication Use Case
Client Authentication use case: Recent announcements from Chrome regarding the deprecation of the client authentication extended key usage (EKU) in public root certificates have caused organizations to look for alternative sources for these certificates. Chrome plans to disallow client auth EKU in March 2027. The X9 PKI use case for client authentication includes this EKU. Certificates are now available to organizations in need of this use case.
