ISO 20022 and X9

ASC X9 has a long history in the development of domestic and international standards. The US through X9 has been involved in ISO 20022 since the inception of this standard in the early 2000’s as a contributor, participant and as a member of the management teams for the Registration Management Group (the governing body) and its subgroups. The US holds the secretariat for the parent organization to the ISO 20022 RMG, TC68.

X9 works closely with various US partners and projects to optimize the standard and its application to US use and needs including the Business Payments Coalition (formerly the Remittance Coalition) and the US Stakeholders Group (Federal Reserve Bank, The Clearing House, NACHA and X9).
